I have been wracking my brain to see how many current and not too distant Cisco Switches there are, by series I should add. Too many to mention and especially to type I would think. Currently our top movers are the 3750 / 3750G / 3750V2 & the 2960 / 2960G range.
Things get more interesting on the Cisco Catalyst 6500 / 6500E and the 7600 / 7600E models. They are of course modular and have a plethora of Blades, PSU’s and configurations.
It must be a network architects dream or nightmare, I am not sure which to go through all of the choices and come up with a design to implement. Today we have fulfilled a requirement for a client abroad for several units of WS-C7609, WS-SUP720-3BXL, WS-X6748-GE-TX, with PSU’s and GBIC’s galore. Which is easy enough ( for a non-techie like me to say ).
Anyone who struggles with this techie malarkey, can either have great staff like we do! Or have a go on Cisco’s Dynamic Configuration Tool and that makes life a lot easier. Or both!
