Creating ICP Networks Green Dream required substantial financial investment, careful planning and lots of hard work.
Over the course of six months the ICP team transformed the 16,500 sq ft empty shell into arguably the Greenest IT HQ.
The stunning transformation, designed from the ground up, has provided ICP Networks with a state of the art facility to rival any in the world.
Huge warehousing potential, a logistics centre, laboratory, office space, an educational facility, state of the art boardroom equipped with video conferencing and as well as excellent staff facilities including a fabulous kitchen and relaxation area were all created with the environment key to every thought.
A 50kWP solar panel installation, the largest in the North West of England, was installed and will generate an estimated 40,000kWH per year – almost four times the amount of energy ICP Networks require, generating a revenue stream as the surplus is sold back to the National Grid.
Roof lights were replaced with ultra-clear polycarbonate panels, modern lighting sensors and energy efficient bulbs were installed saving a huge 90% with light level and motion detection ensuring energy isn’t wasted.
A heat recovery systems maximises energy efficiency, 100mm Kingspan insulation and Thermatex celling tiles made of bio-soluable mineral wool, prelates and clay coupled with Planitherm Argon Super Thermal Glass ensures heat is retained.
The results of the work, of the thought and planning have been spectacular and the early returns suggest the solar panels have performed even better than anyone could have predicted.
